Therapy Pulse Laser
Cold, or diode, lasers (also called low level lasers) are so named because they do
not generate heat like our CO2 Luxar LX-20SP laser that we use in surgery. Cold
laser therapy is the use of a visible red laser 635nm +/- (used more for conditions
closer to the surface of the skin) or near invisible 808nm+/- (used to penetrate
deeper into the underlying tissue). Cold lasers work by improving cellular repair and
stimulation of the immune, lymphatic and vascular systems. Cold lasers are used for
the treatment of skin conditions, arthritis, muscular and skeletal disorders. Ask Dr.
Garner for advice if you think this therapy may be helpful for your pet. He may also
recommend the use of the cold laser for your pet after a traumatic injury or surgery.
